SX-70 Color Film

SX-70 Polaroid cameras operate differently from other models and require a specialized film type. The SX-70 film has a lower ASA rating (ASA 160), meaning it needs more light to capture great images. This is what gives SX-70 photos their distinctive dreamy colors and textures, making them a favorite among artists. This film is compatible with all folding SX-70 cameras, except for the 680/690 SLR models.

Film Features:

  • 8 instant photos per pack
  • Photo size: 3.5” × 4.2” (88 mm × 107 mm)
  • Classic white frame
  • ASA 160
  • Development time: 10–15 minutes
  • Store refrigerated, use at room temperature

Storage & Temperature Guidelines:

Film performance is temperature-sensitive. Store the film in the refrigerator, but never freeze it. Before use, bring it to room temperature (13–28°C / 55–82°F).

  • In cold conditions, keep developing photos warm by placing them in a pocket close to your body.
  • On hot days, ensure the film and photos remain cool.

Shooting with Light

Since SX-70 film requires more light, follow these guidelines for the best results:

  • Use plenty of natural light whenever possible.
  • Always use a flash for indoor photography.
  • We recommend using a flash in all conditions except bright sunlight.

Developing in the Dark

Photos appear blank when first ejected. Since they are highly sensitive during development, follow these steps:

  • Do not shake or bend the photo.
  • Shield it from light while developing:
    • Black & white film: Keep shielded for about 1 minute.
    • Color film: Keep shielded for about 6 minutes.
  • Place the photo face down until development is complete.

Camera Maintenance

Behind the film door of your camera, you’ll find rollers that help process each photo. For consistent image quality, keep these rollers clean.

  • If they appear dirty, gently wipe them with a soft, damp cloth.

Compatible With:

  • SX-70 Cameras
